Aruba is not in the hurricane belt and doesn’t have much of a history when it comes to hurricanes. This is the reason that many tourists decide to visit Aruba during their trip.

There are many opinions and discussions around this topic. Aruba is good for tourists all year around. The most popular months are from November till April , but that mostly related to the winter and holiday season (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, Family Day and various of Spring Breaks in schools and colleges) in America, Canada and Europe. The hottest month in Aruba is September, therefore September-October are considered as Low Season. People who prefer to see less crowd are usually choosing from May till October. Rain can happen any day during the year, but usually it does not last long, so you will always have time to enjoy your vacation

Aruba is in the southern Caribbean, located about 17 miles north of Venezuela. Non-stop flight time to Aruba is about 2.5 hours from Miami, 3.5 hours from Atlanta, 4.5-5 hours from New York City, Toronto, Boston or Detroit.

Aruba weather is tropical but not extreme, with a median temperature of 82 degrees Fahrenheit (28 degrees Celsius). Rainfall averages about eighteen inches a year, with October, November, December and January accounting for most of it. Rain tends to be erratic and come in short-lived showers. It is important to mention that Aruba lies south of the general hurricane paths and usually only experiences fringe effects of nearby tropical weather. 

Villa Tamar is a private bungalow-type house located on a very safe upscaled street Safir. You will have your own large patio and private pool. High fences on both sides protect your privacy from overlooking into the neighbouring properties, and at the back you will see just a field full of cacti, connected to the Golf Resort Tierra Del Sol

The nearest access to the ocean from Villa Tamar is Tres Trapi – literally one minute drive or twelve minutes walk. Other famous beaches very close to villa are Boca Catalina, Malmok, Arashi , Palm Beach and Eagle beach – all in just a few (3-6) minutes drive from Villa.

Villa Tamar has high speed Internet connected to Fiber Optic by local Internet provider Setar. WiFi access is available and tested in every spot inside the house and in the patio/swimming pool area. It is installed by certified WiFi professional.

Grocery prices are slightly (about 10%) more expensive than in regular grocery stores in the US, closer to prices you can find in California. However, you can find some local food such as baked goods and cheese products (directly delivered from the Netherlands) with very attractive prices. We usually recommend to use SuperFood or Ling&Sons for your daily grocery needs. SuperFood is about 10 minutes drive from Villa Tamar. There are a couple of smaller grocery stores within walking distance from the Villa.

We usually strongly recommend to rent a car for the entire duration of your stay to enjoy the whole island. There are many attractions on the island including multiple beaches you would LOVE to visit. Renting a small car is usually under 250$/week. There is a number of rental car companies available – international chains (e.g. Dollar, Avis, National,Budget and so on) or local.
